IBM's Communication Server allows Multiple TCP/IP stacks to run concurrently with a single VTAM. Unfortunately, Enterprise Extender can only 'talk' to one stack per LPAR. For most installations this is not a problem. However, some sites have requirements to use multiple TCP/IP stacks in an LPAR, usually for network traffic isolation purposes. For these sites, the restriction prevents full deployment of Enterprise Extender across all stacks.
APIAS provides a simple solution for this restriction by routing Enterprise Extender traffic between the various stacks. This is all achieved via a simple configuration file, requiring no changes to VTAM or TCP/IP definitions.
